BIOGRAPHY – A Profile of BRYAN MCILWRAITH

Bryan McIlwraith was born and educated
in Inverness. He gained a diploma in Osteopathy in 1976 from the British School
of Osteopathy (the oldest and largest osteopathic college in Britain). He also
holds a BSc Honours (1st Class) in Osteopathic Medicine from the
British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy. His practice in Inverness was
established in 1976, and is the oldest and largest practice in the Highlands.
He has been involved with many aspects of the Osteopathic
profession. He has served on the General Osteopathathic Council, he has been
Chairman of the Scottish Osteopathic Society, and is currently an External Examiner
for the accredited colleges of Osteopathy. He also works for the Quality
Assurance Agency for Further Education, validating Osteopathic training
courses.
He is also interested in vehicle ergonomics and the problems
associated with driving. He lectures on the subject and has written several
papers and magazine articles dealing with the topic, as well as being an
